ChatMapper Docs

Author branching conversations on a collaborative web canvas — then run them in a LearnBrite space or ship them into your engine.

Both manuals cover the same editor. They differ in what you do with the result: one ends in a 3D LearnBrite space, the other ends in your engine’s build.

app.chatmapper.com is a multi-user web editor for branching dialogue. It reads and writes the same project format as the Windows ChatMapper Desktop app, so nothing you have already built is stranded.

Canvas editing

Drag-and-connect graph, keyboard tree building, inline text editing, auto-layout, collapse/expand, minimap.

Simulate before you ship

Play any conversation in the browser with real Lua, step history, a Lua console and variable inspection.

Validation

Duplicate IDs, unreachable nodes, broken links, undefined variables, missing speakers — checked continuously, plus platform-specific preflights.

Import and export

In: .cmp, .cmpkg, XML, JSON, CSV/Excel, Twine, Arcweave, articy:draft X. Out: JSON, XML, Unity preset, Yarn, HTML player, SCORM/xAPI, CSV, RTF, SVG.

Team workflow

Workspaces, teams, roles, live presence, autosave, revision history with diff and restore, reviewer notes.

AI assistance

An optional copilot that proposes structured edits you approve, plus generated audio, portraits and AI conversation gates.
